How do I use the board analyzer?

You can either manually type the letters currently on your board into the 15x15 grid, or upload a screenshot of your game to have our OCR automatically extract the letters. Then, enter your current rack letters and click "Analyze Board" to find the best possible moves.

How do I preview a suggested move on the board?

Accepted Answer

After analysis, simply click any move in the results list. The suggested tiles will be placed on the board in amber/gold so you can instantly see exactly where they go. Click another move to swap the preview, or click the same move again to clear it.

What does the ? symbol mean?

Accepted Answer

The question mark (?) represents a blank tile or wildcard. You can use it in your rack input to represent a tile that can be played as any letter. Blank tiles score 0 points.

How are points calculated?

Points are calculated based on standard Scrabble letter values. The tool sums the base value of the letters in the main word and any valid cross-words formed. Note: Board multipliers (Double Word, Triple Letter, etc.) are not currently factored into the automated score, so your actual score may be higher depending on placement.

Can I edit the grid after OCR?

Yes! OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is not always perfect, especially with complex board backgrounds. After uploading an image, you should review the grid and click on any cell to manually correct mistakes before analyzing.

What if OCR doesn't work?

If the image extraction fails or produces garbage text, you can click the "Clear Board" button and manually type the letters into the grid. For best OCR results, try to crop your screenshot closely to the board itself.

How many moves are shown?

The analyzer evaluates thousands of possibilities and displays the top 15 highest-scoring valid moves based on base letter values.

Is this tool mobile-friendly?

Yes, the grid is scrollable horizontally on smaller screens, and you can use your device's camera directly to capture the board.
