Can I use blank tiles or wildcards?
Yes. Use a question mark (?) or asterisk (*) to represent a blank tile in your rack. The solver will treat it as any letter needed to complete a word. Since blank tiles score 0 points in Scrabble, any letter covered by a wildcard is correctly valued at 0 in our results. For example, entering "aetlm?" will find all words formable with those five letters plus one blank.
How are Scrabble points calculated?
Each letter has a standard point value — common letters like E, A, and I are worth 1 point, while rare letters like Q and Z are worth 10. Our tool calculates the face value of each word by summing its individual letter values, with blank tiles counted as 0. Results are sorted highest score first within each word length group.
Are bonus squares included in the scores?
No — the points shown are base letter values only. Double letter, triple letter, double word, and triple word bonuses depend on where you place the word on the board and are not factored in. Use these base values as your starting point, then mentally apply any bonus squares available in your position.
How do I find the highest-scoring words?
Within each word length group, results are already sorted by point value with the highest-scoring words at the top. For maximum points, look for words that use high-value tiles — Q (10pts), Z (10pts), X (8pts), J (8pts), and K (5pts). Longer words that use a Q or Z without a blank tile will typically outperform shorter plays.
What makes a word valid in Scrabble?
Valid Scrabble words come from official dictionaries — TWL (Tournament Word List) in North America and Collins in international play. Our tool uses a comprehensive word list covering the vast majority of accepted Scrabble words.
